John Gibbons thought Marcus Stroman might be the perfect choice to stop the Toronto Blue Jays' skid after three straight losses to Atlanta. Stroman threw 5 2/3 strong innings and hit the second homer by a pitcher in Blue Jays history to lead Toronto over Julio Teheran and the Braves 9-0 on Thursday night. The Braves are looking for help at first base after losing Freddie Freeman for about 10 weeks due to a broken left wrist. President of baseball operations John Hart says he knows no player can replace the production lost by the injury to Freeman, who shared the major league lead with 14 homers and was hitting .341.
