The Los Angeles Kings kept the pressure on most of the game and it finally paid off in the final two minutes. Jake Muzzin took a slick pass in front of the net from Jeff Carter and scored a power-play goal with 1:49 to play, giving the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 victory over Arizona on Tuesday night that snapped the Coyotes' season-best three-game winning streak. The Los Angeles Kings and Arizona Coyotes came out of the All-Star break last season believing they would secure postseason berths. While the Kings had plenty of experience to draw upon, the Coyotes were feeling their way through an unfamiliar playoff push and it showed when the teams met Feb. 2 at Gila River Arena.
