Toronto Blue Jays
The view from Arlington? Let’s just say there could be some Texas-sized hate going to bear down on the Blue Jays for these first two games of the ALDS, and of course no one is going to get it worse than Jose Bautista. Let’s start off with Dallas radio host Ben Rogers, who reserves top spot on his personal spit list for the Cowboys’ rival Philadelphia Eagles, but it’s the Jays, Bautista, Josh Donaldson’s hair and Toronto’s “classless fans” who are No. 2: “From Josh Donaldson’s barber school disaster mullet to their unruly fan base to Jose Bautista’s off the charts arrogance, they are so incredibly easy to hate.” ICYMI: With the help of Twitter, I tried to power rank our DFW sports hate last night in an effort to determine where the Blue Jays rank: pic.twitter.com/JbcFNGcxxu — Ben Rogers (@BenRogers) October 5, 2016 A little more even-keel – but not too much – is Rangers’ Hall of Fame radio voice Eric Nadel, who told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Jeff Caplan that “the current rivalry with the Blue Jays is more intense than any rivalry the Rangers have had in my time – nothing is even remotely close.” This from a guy who’s been behind the mic for the Arlington-based club for 38 years. “A lot of people will need Xanax before Game 1, and I might be one of them,” Nadel told Kaplan. Some are anticipating this one as perhaps Joey Bats-Rougned Odor II , after the Texas infielder’s celebrated (at least outside Toronto) his one-punch KO of the Toronto legend last May, seen as the comeuppance for last fall’s bat-flip home run that put the cherry on the wildest inning of baseball in recent memory. There’s probably too much at stake here to let such tomfoolery become the focus, but you never know, and so this series has all kinds of levels to it beyond the balls and strikes. Play ball, and await the noise. It should be great, as long as some clown doesn’t spoil it all by throwing a beer. Right, Toronto? @inthemageors @Rangers @1053thefan @1053SS I don't know what I hate more. Clowns or the @BlueJays — Ryan (@ryanxmorgan3) October 5, 2016     Continue to Article

Texas Rangers
There was Jose Bautista's emphatic bat flip after his tiebreaking homer in the ALDS-clinching game last October, and then Rougned Odor's punch in May that ignited a bench-clearing brawl the last time the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays played. ''I don't think it's fabricated,'' Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar said Wednesday. ''We knew it was going to happen,'' Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus said of facing Toronto again.
