The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a big name to their front office. The team announced the hiring of former Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington as vice president of baseball operations on Wednesday, where he’ll work under president Mark Shapiro and GM Ross Atkins. Cherington was in charge of the Red Sox when they won the World Series in 2013, but left the organization during a second straight last-place finish last season after Dave Dombrowski was brought in to be the new boss.
