San Francisco Giants
Nolan Arenado powered the Colorado Rockies to a strong finish for their successful road trip. Arenado had three hits, Eddie Butler pitched six innings for his first win since being promoted from the minors, and the Rockies beat the San Francisco Giants 2-0 on Sunday. Colorado went 6-4 on its first winning road trip of 10 games or longer since 2009. Continue to Article

Toronto Blue Jays
Standing in the on-deck circle, Howie Kendrick watched Yasmani Grandal battle through an eight-pitch at bat for a tying sacrifice fly. With Toronto closer Roberto Osuna on the mound, Kendrick had no intention of being so selective. Kendrick hit a tiebreaking RBI single on the first pitch he saw in the eighth inning, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 4-2 on Sunday. Continue to Article

Toronto Blue Jays
The Los Angeles Dodgers stopped the Toronto Blue Jays' winning streak with help from their ace, but they will have a rookie that's coming off his worst start on the mound for the series finale. Ross Stripling will seek to bounce back from that effort Sunday while Toronto's Marco Estrada is hoping to see more support in his attempt to snap a personal winless stretch. Clayton Kershaw yielded two runs in seven innings while striking out 10 to send the Blue Jays (16-16) to their first loss in five games Saturday, a 6-2 defeat. Continue to Article

Toronto Blue Jays
Here's a scary thought. At age 28 — and with three Cy Young awards already sitting on his mantle — Clayton Kershaw may be taking another step forward.  It actually sounds crazy when you consider his success, but it really isn't when you consider the ridiculous rate with which Kershaw is striking out batters and then couple it with his remarkable control.  [Elsewhere: College pitcher Ryan Mason pulls off amazing baseball trick shot ] With his 10-strikeout, no-walk performance in Saturday's 6-2 win against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Dodgers ace has now struck out 64 batters this season compared to just 3 walks. That equals a 21.6 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB), which isn't just good, it's incredible. Kershaw's on pace to obliterate the existing MLB single-season K/BB record  for starting pitchers of 11.6, which was set by Phil Hughes with the Yankees in 2014. Of course, good command isn't foreign to Kershaw. It has been a staple of his dominance over his eight-plus seasons in MLB. But he's clearly taken it to another level to begin his 2016 campaign. That's made all the more impressive by the fact that he's also currently incorporating a new pitch into his repertoire.  That wasn't the changeup, but rather a filthy slider to strike out his old rival Troy Tulowitzki. Just imagine when he starts getting more comfortable using that changeup though. Hitters won't have a chance, and hitters that already had no chance might as well forget it. Here are a couple other impressive stats. Since issuing his last walk on April 21, Kershaw has struck out 34 batters. This is third straight game of at least 10 strikeouts and no walks, tying an MLB record he set last season along with Tampa Bay's Chris Archer. Then there's this: Clayton Kershaw: 4th straight gm with 10+ K; longest streak of career, longest in MLB in 2016, longest by Dodgers P since Hideo Nomo in 1995 — ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) May 7, 2016 It's early still. and it's highly unlikely that Kershaw will be able to maintain the pace he's setting in several categories. With that in mind, he does look like a man on a mission, so we wouldn't advise betting against him either.
