Nets vs. Celtics Prediction: Boston Is the Likely Winner, but -575 Is a Pass
Analysis updated October 27, 2026 at 7:08 AM CDT
Boston has started 2-1 while Brooklyn is 0-3, but the Celtics are playing on consecutive nights and had not submitted their injury report as of the NBA’s 5:30 a.m. update.
Early results favor Boston
Oddsloft, an NBA matchup and odds site, lists Boston at 2-1 with averages of 118.0 points scored and 107.7 allowed. Brooklyn is 0-3, averaging 111.0 points while allowing 123.7. That gap makes the Celtics the more likely winner at home.
The latest results point the same way. Boston beat Chicago 134-99 on October 26, while Brooklyn lost 136-109 to Indiana on October 25. Boston’s win also means the Celtics will play for the second straight night.
The price requires more certainty
The NBA’s 5:30 a.m. injury report listed five Nets players out for G League or two-way assignment reasons: Tyler Bilodeau, Joshua Jefferson, Grant Nelson, Drake Powell and Ben Saraf. Boston had not submitted its report, leaving the Celtics’ availability unconfirmed.
SPF lists Boston at -575 on the moneyline and -11.5 against the spread. The Celtics should win, but their back-to-back and missing availability information make the moneyline too expensive and the spread difficult to support. The 222.5 total also lacks a clear edge with only three games of team data available. Pass.
