New York Jets center Ryan Kalil was placed on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced Saturday. Kalil, who is a five-time Pro Bowl selection, was lured out of retirement with a one-year, $8.4 million contract in the offseason. The 34-year-old Kalil started seven games this season before sustaining a knee injury during New York's 29-15 loss to Jacksonville on Oct. 27. Continue to Article

Colin Kaepernick has to audition for a job in a workout strangely organized by the NFL while other quarterbacks with lesser talent were given opportunities over the past three years. According to NFL Pick Watch, 86 percent of experts polled are taking the also-underachieving Rams in Week 11. It'll be a strange and twisted battle between two first-round quarterbacks - Jared Goff and Mitch Trubisky - who will compete for the right to be called less of a bust by the end of the game. It kept the Bears' playoff hopes alive. Outside of Halas Hall, fans and observers of this team don't have to subscribe to this theory, but inside the building, the Bears are looking at this trip to Los Angeles as something bigger than just a chance to shine on Sunday Night Football. For the Bears, this is an opportunity to stay relevant and in the playoff race. Continue to Article
