The Seattle Mariners have made a trio of promotions to fill out the major league coaching staff for next season. Manager Scott Servais announced Thursday that Pete Woodworth would be the new pitching coach, Carson Vitale will be the field coordinator and Jarret DeHart will be the assistant hitting coach. LeBlanc appeared in 26 games with eight starts and had a 6-7 record and 5.41 ERA. Continue to Article

Cruz would have received a $300,000 buyout if the option had been declined and would have become eligible for free agency. Continue to Article

Because he has those two secondary offerings in his back pocket, Bass has traditionally been able to induce relatively neutral platoon splits. Although Bass doesn't look like he'll be an impact arm for the Blue Jays, he's projects to make just $1.7 million in arbitration and could provide a baseline of competence to a group riddled with question marks.
