Khwan Fore made a game-saving steal and continued down court for an exclamation layup at the buzzer and third-seeded Richmond escaped with a 70-67 win over George Washington in the Atlantic 10 Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night. Down one with 5.8 seconds left and the ball under its own basket, the Colonials went up top to Yuta Watanabe but as he tried to dribble left around his defender at the top of the key, Fore slashed in and took the ball away. Tyler Cavanaugh scored 22 points and sparked a breakaway run in the second half as George Washington defeated George Mason 83-74 on Sunday to pull even with the Patriots in the Atlantic 10 standings. Cavanaugh has scored 19 or better in the Colonials' last three games, all wins, and has topped 20 points a dozen times this season.
