Life goes on as a football independent at BYU after the Big 12 decided against expansion in October. There's nothing unusual about the backup quarterback wearing a coach's headset on the sideline, but BYU had a deeper plan with that. Tanner Mangum wore the headset as the No. 2 behind Taysom Hill in 2016 because coach Kalani Sitake and offensive coordinator Ty Detmer were thinking ahead to 2017. Fordham quarterback Kevin Anderson was granted a medical redshirt by the league to return for a fifth season of eligibility. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Anderson was granted the extra year because he sat out his freshman season at Marshall in 2013 while recovering from a broken collarbone he suffered as a high school senior in Boca Raton, Florida. Anderson transferred to Fordham in 2014 and spent his first season as the backup to former Patriot League offensive player of the year Michael Nebrich. Continue to Article

Army has suspended defensive coordinator Jay Bateman for two weeks for mishandling information about the Wake Forest football team. West Point also fined Bateman $25,000 for his role in the so-called WakeyLeaks scandal and ordered him to attend ethics training.
