With Justin Smoak a free agent and Rowdy Tellez is coming off a rookie season that isn't particularly encouraging, it's clear that first base is a major hole for the Toronto Blue Jays. Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Cody Bellinger was named National League MVP on Thursday as Angels ace Mike Trout picked up the award for the American League for the third time. First baseman and outfielder Bellinger beat off competition from Milwaukee's Christian Yelich and Washington Nationals ace Anthony Rendon to land the award for the first time. Rocco Baldelli of the Minnesota Twins was named American League Manager of the Year, and Mike Shildt of the St. Louis Cardinals won the National League honor, it was announced Tuesday on the MLB Network.
