Josh Bailey scored the first of the Islanders' three consecutive second-period goals on Sunday night as host New York defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. Brock Nelson and Anders Lee also scored in the second period while Anthony Beauvillier added a goal in the third period for the Islanders, who were playing the second game of a season-opening three-game homestand. Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey suffered an upper body injury prior to Sunday's game against the New York Islanders and was subsequently ruled out of the contest. It was not determined how Morrissey suffered the injury and no further updates were provided by the Jets. American Muhammad breaks own world record to win 400m hurdles American Dalilah Muhammad broke her own world record to win the women's 400 metres hurdles at the world championships with a time of 52.16 seconds on Friday, edging out compatriot Sydney McLaughlin in a gripping race. The 29-year-old Muhammad, the 2016 Olympic champion, crossed the finish line 0.04 seconds faster than her previous world record set in July. After failing to crack the Islanders lineup this week and then subsequently being placed on waivers, Josh Ho-Sang has reportedly made it clear that he wants out of Long Island. General manager Lou Lamoriello confirms Ho-Sang's agent request a trade on Thursday.
