Colorado Rockies closer Scott Oberg was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, a day after undergoing a procedure to dissolve a blood clot in his pitching arm. The right-hander remained hospitalized Sunday morning, manager Bud Black told reporters. Oberg, 29, had similar issues in 2016, when he underwent two surgeries for axillary artery thrombosis (blood clots) in his right arm and shoulder. Continue to Article

The Miami Marlins' first lead of their road series against the Colorado Rockies was short-lived. Jon Berti hit leadoff home run that soared 451 feet to right-center field at Coors Field on Saturday only for it to be quickly erased in the bottom half of the inning in the start of another eventual rout. The Rockies hit five home runs against the Marlins — who have now given up home runs in a franchise-record 19 consecutive games — in an 11-4 win to clinch the series against Miami. Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has accepted a 20-game suspension for his domestic violence arrest in May, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced Saturday. The suspension will include the five games he missed when he was placed on 7-day administrative leave immediately after the incident.
