Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays have cut ticket prices down to $2 for a series of upcoming games, in a bid to fill up seats at Tropicana Field as the team weighs a potential two-city stadium split. The $2 tickets are for three home games against the Baltimore Orioles between July 1 and July 3. The Tampa Bay Rays activated infielder Yandy Diaz, who has been out because of a strained right hamstring, from the 10-day injured list before Thursday afternoon's game at the Minnesota Twins. Diaz, who missed the minimum amount of time, was in the starting lineup Thursday, hitting fourth and playing third base. Diaz, 27, is having a breakout season in his first season with the Rays after being acquired from the Cleveland Indians in a three-way trade that included the Seattle Mariners in December. One day after a fan a Dodger Stadium got hit in the head by a foul ball, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced Monday that they would extend the protective netting further down the foul lines. The Dodgers issued a press release that read, "Fan safety is of the utmost importance to the Dodgers and during the offseason, we began the process of studying how the netting at Dodger Stadium could be configured to provide better protection for our fans.
