Stephen Curry offered a long list of things motivating the Golden State Warriors to extend their season once more and keep alive the chase for a third straight championship. Winning for injured teammate Kevin Durant certainly ranks No. 1 heading into Game 6 of the NBA Finals. A victory in the last game at Oracle Arena is right up there, too. Continue to Article

Why Warriors should worry about referee officiating NBA Finals Game 6 originally appeared on As the Warriors fight to see another day, they can't be too happy with who will be officiating Thursday night's Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Marc Davis, David Guthrie, John Goble, and Eric Lewis will make up the crew on the court in the final game being played at Oracle Arena. That first name should worry Warriors fans. This night is about 47 years of memories, of times good and bad, of fans that have entered the gates and those who greeted them with a smile and a kind word. For even with hundreds of players and coaches shuttling in and out since 1971, some growing attached and others never taking –- or not having –- the time to get to know the people or the place, the fans kept coming. They came to see Rick Barry's fine all-around game, Larry Smith's hard-hat work ethic, Purvis Short's rainbow J. They came hoping Joe Barry Carroll would be a star, knowing Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin –- Run-TMC –- would provide entertainment and to give Don Nelson, in his first stint, standing ovations for... As if the Golden State Warriors didn't already have enough going on, the team introduced a new logo on Wednesday. Perhaps as a ploy to distract the world from the fact that Kevin Durant ruptured his right Achilles tendon in an NBA Finals game he probably shouldn't have been playing in, Golden State made the announcement around the same time Durant made the depressing revelation that he had indeed torn his Achilles, complete with a sad photo from his post-op hospital bed. Golden State touted a custom font and “more accurate depiction of the Bay Bridge” in the reveal. Continue to Article

Sharks have split fan loyalties with Warriors, Raptors in NBA Finals originally appeared on When Game 6 of the NBA Finals tips off Thursday night at Oracle Arena, the Sharks will be a bit split in their rooting interests. Ontario-born Logan Couture has made it known he's rooting for the Toronto Raptors and not the Warriors, while defenseman (and pending free agent) Erik Karlsson was at Games 3 and 4 at Oracle Arena last week, rocking a Jonas Jerebko jersey. Karlsson sat with Couture at Game 4. Continue to Article

Minutes after Kevin Durant announced the rupture and successful surgery of his Achilles with a picture of him laying on a New York City hospital bed, the Warriors' sharp-shooting duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson was posed a question: Has Durant earned Splash Brother status? Over the last six months, Golden State has been mulling the prospect of a future without its superstar forward as he potentially becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. Continue to Article

The Curry family has had to deal with their fare share of harassment from Toronto Raptors fans throughout the NBA Finals.
