Golden State
But with the Raptors up 3-1 in the Finals, it's certainly looking like Golden State won't be ending their reign on their own terms. Even if Durant were to make a dramatic return—unlikely, seeing as he seems to be only getting more and more unavailable—the Warriors still find themselves in a nearly insurmountable hole. And while the Raptors may not have the most foolproof offense in the world, their defense has been so commanding that it's hard to imagine them just completely folding here. Continue to Article

Four games into the 2019 NBA Finals, and the matchup has fizzled. Battling back from a gruesome quad injury, Cousins has shown flashes, especially in Game 2, but he's nowhere near 100 percent. "These are the cards I was dealt, so just make the best of the situation, that's all you really can do," Cousins said during his media availability on Sunday. Continue to Article

It was just past midnight Monday morning, and Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujiri decided it was time to go see the people. All of Canada, it seems, is ready as well. It is Raptors Fever, and it is running hot all across Canada as the country's lone NBA team is one victory away from its first championship. Continue to Article

The NBA and Canada Basketball are joining forces to expand the nation's youth development programs, with Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam among those on a new leadership council. The league and Canada's national governing body announced the move Monday as the Raptors were set to host Golden State in game five of the NBA Finals needing only one win to capture the first NBA crown by any team outside the United States. The newly formed Junior NBA Leadership Council will oversee the expanded offerings to help local groups in more than 300 Canadian communities to provide boys and girls ages five to 12 with greater opportunities to play basketball in a nation known for its love of ice hockey. Toronto
Monday night might be the last game of the NBA season, and the Toronto Raptors have a chance to close out the Golden State Warriors in five games and win their first ever NBA championship. The stakes are clear, and even though one team has clearly been more superior than the other in this series so far, there's something about putting away a team that has won three out of the last four championships and is in their fifth consecutive NBA Finals. The Larry O'Brien trophy has never felt closer, and the stakes have never been higher than what will be facing the Raptors in Game 5. Continue to Article

Golden State
From the onset, it seemed like a bit of an odd match: a sporting brand with little presence in the hyper-competitive basketball market, paired with a quiet player who seems to loathe the spotlight and rarely shows any emotion. With Kawhi Leonard as the face of its basketball division, New Balance is trying to shed its image as the manufacturer of your dad's favourite shoes and become the next cool name in the sport. TORONTO, ONTARIO - MAY 30: Kawhi Leonard #2 of the Toronto Raptors reacts against the Golden State Warriors in the second quarter during Game One of the 2019 NBA Finals at Scotiabank Arena on May 30, 2019 in Toronto, Canada. With Golden State facing elimination Monday night, many wondered if Kevin Durant would be able to return from the strained calf injury he suffered back in the second round. The severity of the injury was never reported, making it near impossible to determine whether or not Durant would be able to return at some point in the postseason. Sunday marked the first day that he was able to go through a practice with teammates, and it was ultimately announced that he's considered to be questionable for Game 5 Monday night. Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri is more than just an executive to his team's die-hard fans, he's been one of the emotional epicenters of the club's rise to prominence and is always happy to passionately indulge the supporters. With the Raptors on the brink of winning their first title in franchise history, and fans flocking to Jurassic Park way ahead of Monday's Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors, Ujiri made sure they felt appreciated for their long wait. Remember that friend of mine from Saskatoon who came to Toronto just to stand in Jurassic Park? Continue to Article
