Robert Covington was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in November, part of a deal that sent Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers. Covington, though, learned of the news just like the rest of the basketball world: Through the internet. An alternate game telecast of Friday's NBA matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards will give fans a look at the future of in-game sports betting broadcasts. Sports Business Daily and ESPN reported Monday that NBC Sports Washington Plus, an overflow channel for the regional sport broadcaster, will carry an interactive alternate telecast of the Wizards-Bucks game, the first of eight similar games to be shown this season. "It's the 1.0 version of where we're ultimately going," Zach Leonsis, senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Wizards ownership group Monumental Sports and Entertainment told Sports Buisness Daily. You'd think by now — in his 10th season with the team and after four-straight NBA Finals appearances — that the Golden State Warriors would know exactly how to utilize star Stephen Curry. Warriors coach Steve Kerr has started playing Curry in the beginning of the second and fourth quarters, and then taking him out midway through the fourth.
