Edmonton
The Minnesota Wild will try to complete a sweep of their brief two-game homestand when they host the Pacific Division-leading Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night in Saint Paul, Minn. The Wild capped a roller-coaster 72-hour span that started with a 4-0 blanking at Montreal and a closed-door, players-only meeting by rallying to defeat the Canadiens 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at home for just their second victory in eight games this season. Zach Parise scored what proved to be the winning goal midway through the third period off a nifty cross-ice pass by Jason Zucker, who also scored a goal. Continue to Article

Zach Parise scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period, and Jason Zucker had a goal and an assist to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday afternoon in Saint Paul, Minn. Marcus Foligno and Brad Hunt also scored goals for Minnesota, which snapped a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in eight games. Mikko Koivu added two assists. After his postgame comments on Thursday blew up online, Jason Zucker of the Minnesota Wild is sorry for unintentionally singling out his head coach Bruce Boudreau. Minnesota Wild winger Jason Zucker has done some back-pedalling since his comments about Bruce Boudreau — his team's head coach — began to blow up online following a 4-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. Shortly after a closed-door, players-only meeting at the Bell Centre, the 27-year-old had plenty to say to a group of beat writers about the Wild's dreadful 1-6-0 start to the 2019-20 season that has them sitting last in the league's standings. A busy night around the National Hockey League brings us a nine-game slate for DFS. Giroux is off to a pretty quiet start to the 2019-20 campaign, but he is coming off what has been his most productive outing so far, registering a pair of assists in a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. With the Flyers returning to Philadelphia after a three-game Western Canada road trip, I could see this matchup against Dallas being a good spot for the centre, especially considering this will be the Stars' second game in as many nights. Devan Dubnyk — the No. 1 goaltender for the Minnesota Wild — would probably be the first one to tell you that his start to the 2019-20 NHL season hasn't been ideal. Due to the unique design of the Montreal Canadiens' arena, there isn't room for the visiting backup goaltender to sit beside his teammates on the bench. With Alex Stalock getting the nod against the Habs from Minnesota's head coach Bruce Boudreau, Dubnyk found himself near the visiting team's entrance/exit for the contest — across from his teammates.
