Darcy Kuemper made 21 saves for the Arizona Coyotes in a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators in Phoenix on Thursday, becoming the first goalie in franchise history to allow two goals or fewer in 12 consecutive starts. Phil Kessel scored his first two goals with the Coyotes since his trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins in June, both on the power play. The Johnstown Warriors hockey program added its first-ever all-girls youth hockey team this year, with help from Sidney Crosby. Throughout its 53-year history, the Johnstown Warriors Cambria Youth Hockey Program in Pennsylvania never had a youth all-girls team (12 and under). Victor Olofsson had a goal and an assist and Carter Hutton stopped 25 shots for the 12th shutout of his career to lead the Atlantic Division-leading Buffalo Sabres to a 4-0 victory over the Dallas Stars on Monday afternoon. Sam Reinhart, Jeff Skinner and Marcus Johansson also scored goals and Jack Eichel had two assists for the Sabres who have opened the season with points in all six games (5-0-1), the first time since 2008-09 that Buffalo has accomplished that feat.
