The New Jersey Devils decided to make their Monday matinee against the Florida Panthers 'Kids Day,' and they had some pretty cool initiatives in place to make the day special for the young ones. One of the neat promos the Devils had for Kids Day occurred in the pre-game warm-up. Connor McDavid scored the go-ahead goal on a power play with 10:16 remaining, and Leon Draisaitl collected two goals and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers dominated the third period and remained unbeaten with a 4-1 victory over the host New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon. The Oilers improved to 5-0 for the first time since the 1985-86 season and became the first team in NHL history to open a season with five straight wins while overcoming a deficit in each contest. The Edmonton Oilers have now won five-straight games to open their season, and they've done it in record-setting style. With a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon, the Oilers have set an NHL record with their fifth consecutive come-from-behind win to start the season. Rangers rookie sensation and the most recent second-overall pick, Kaapo Kakko, opened the scoring with his first career NHL goal, giving the Blueshirts the 1-0 lead. Continue to Article

It's only four games into the regular season for the Bruins, and the year is so fresh that they're only now playing their first game on home ice Saturday night at TD Garden against the New Jersey Devils. It was an unmitigated success on the road to start the season with a 3-1-0 record after swinging through Dallas, Arizona, Vegas and Colorado on the West Coast, but some of that success is not going to be sustainable if they don't improve. To this point the Bruins have tried Danton Heinen and Charlie Coyle together as a constant third line "pair", and they've installed Brett Ritchie and David Backes among others as the right wing in an admittedly small sample size.
