The Capitals 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars on Saturday was a long time coming. Heading into Saturday's game, Washington had lost three straight, dropping a third-period lead in all three games. The Caps carried a 2-0 lead with them into the final frame against the Stars, but did not sit on their heels and added two more goals to their score for the win. Continue to Article

Jack Eichel and Casey Mittelstadt scored in the game-ending shootout as the host Buffalo Sabres edged the Florida Panthers 3-2 on Friday night. Buffalo led 2-0 in the third period before Evgenii Dadonov and Mike Hoffman scored. Hoffman's goal with just 10.4 seconds left in the third period, off a Dadonov assist, forced overtime. Johnny Gaudreau scored in the third round of the shootout and the Calgary Flames erased a two-goal deficit in the third period en route to a 3-2 road victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. With the opportunity to win the game on his stick, Gaudreau made all kinds of moves before tucking a backhand shot past Stars goalie Ben Bishop for the clinching tally. Flames goalie David Rittich stopped 34 shots, four in overtime -- including an Alexander Radulov penalty shot in the extra period -- plus two of three in the shootout to backstop the Flames to a win that snapped a six-game losing streak against Dallas.
