Tuukka Rask stopped all 31 shots he faced in his first shutout of the season as the Boston Bruins beat the visiting New Jersey Devils 3-0 in their home opener Saturday night. Brad Marchand, Joakim Nordstrom and Patrice Bergeron scored as the Bruins won for the fourth time in five games to begin the new year. Former Boston Bruins defenceman and Edmonton Oilers head coach Ted Green died at at the age of 79, the Oilers confirmed in a statement Saturday. Green was a member of Boston's blueline from 1960-1972, although he did not compete during the 1969-70 season due to a skull fracture he suffered during the 1969 preseason. Appearing in 620 NHL games, the St. Boniface, Manitoba native recorded 48 goals and 254 points. Continue to Article

Their challenge for an offside that occurred nearly a minute before the tally was successful and the game remained tied. A stunning goal by Andre Burakovsky with just over seven minutes remaining in the third gave Colorado a 3-2 lead and Gabriel Landeskog's shot into the empty net secured the 4-2 victory.
