Since Yahoo doesn't do single-game contests, their Sunday MLB contests involve the game Sunday between the Astros and the Yankees, but also Game 3 between the Nationals and Cardinals on Monday. Your chances to play DFS baseball on Yahoo are dwindling. Sunday night brings us Game 2 of the ALCS, and the matchup on the mound is between Justin Verlander ($56) and James Paxton ($37). With Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole looming, the New York Yankees absolutely had to have Game 1 — and they got it with their own postseason ace on the mound. Masahiro Tanaka was brilliant once again — as he has been every October — facing the minimum over six shutout innings, and the Yankees throttled the Houston Astros 7-0 on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park to take a 1-0 lead in the American League Championship Series. “Well, first he's really good, so that's a good place to start,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of Tanaka. Washington's Max Scherzer became the second pitcher to flirt with a no-hitter in as many days as the Nationals stunned Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 in game two of the National League Championship Series. Scherzer took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and new dad Daniel Hudson closed it out in the ninth to preserve the win for the visiting Nationals, who took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. The Nationals, who rallied to upset the 106-win Los Angeles Dodgers in the previous round, host games three and four on Monday and Tuesday. Continue to Article
