Johnny Gaudreau scored the shootout winner and the Calgary Flames erased a two-goal deficit in the third period en route to a 3-2 road victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. With the opportunity to win the game on his stick, Gaudreau made all kinds of moves before tucking a backhand shot past Stars goalie Ben Bishop for the clinching tally. Flames goalie David Rittich stopped 34 shots, four in overtime -- including an Alexander Radulov penalty shot in the extra period -- plus two of three in the shootout to backstop the Flames to a win that snapped a six-game losing streak against Dallas. McDavid has been his usual dominate self with two goals and eight points in three games while Draisaitl hasn't been far behind with a goal and seven points in three contests.  However, James Neal has been the talk of the town with a stunning six goals in his first three games.  Neal is coming off an abysmal season with the Calgary Flames and some wrote him off as a result, but Edmonton seems like a far better spot for him. Drew Doughty scored the game-winner 50 seconds into overtime for the Los Angeles Kings, who surrendered a three-goal lead before beating the host Calgary Flames 4-3 Tuesday night for their first victory of the season. While his team enjoyed a power play, Doughty was fed a cross-ice pass and sniped a puck from the top of the left circle. Ilya Kovalchuk collected a goal and two assists, and goaltender Jack Campbell made 26 saves for the Kings, who rebounded from a 6-5, season-opening loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. In case you were wondering, Drew Doughty and Matthew Tkachuk still aren't very fond of each other. Although Tkachuk has played against the Los Angeles Kings just 11 times in his first three seasons with the Calgary Flames, the 21-year-old forward has developed quite the “relationship” with Doughty.
