In case you were wondering, Drew Doughty and Matthew Tkachuk still aren't very fond of each other. Although Tkachuk has played against the Los Angeles Kings just 11 times in his first three seasons with the Calgary Flames, the 21-year-old forward has developed quite the “relationship” with Doughty. Ahead of their clash on Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, L.A.'s veteran defenceman had some things to say about his good buddy in Calgary. Continue to Article

The New York Rangers traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the Ottawa Senators on Monday in exchange for minor league defenseman Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in 2021. Multiple media outlets reported the deal will save the Rangers $3 million in cap space, though New York will pay $750,000 of Namestnikov's remaining salary. Namestnikov, 26, is in the final season of a two-year, $8 million contract. Continue to Article

David Rittich stopped 34 shots to record his second career shutout, and Johnny Gaudreau had a three-point night in the Calgary Flames' home-opening 3-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. The Czech netminder was particularly strong in the third period as the Canucks outshot Calgary 18-6 but could not score in the chippy first meeting between the Pacific Division teams. Rittich's previous shutout was a 21-save blanking of the Kings in Los Angeles last Nov. 10. Continue to Article

Forward Brayden Schenn signed an eight-year, $52 million contract extension Friday that will keep him with the St. Louis Blues through the 2027-28 season. The 28-year-old Schenn has spent the previous two seasons with the Blues, recording a career-high 70 points (28 goals, 42 assists) in 2017-18 and 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) last season. He added 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in the Blues' postseason run to the Stanley Cup championship in 2018-19. Continue to Article

Nazem Kadri begins the next chapter of his career with the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, but of course all anyone wants to talk about is how his tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs ended. Kadri spent his entire career with the Maple Leafs before he was traded to the Avalanche on July 1 alongside Calle Rosen and a 2020 third-round pick in exchange for Tyson Barrie, Alexander Kerfoot and a 2020 sixth-round selection. The veteran centre revealed that he was close to becoming a member of the Calgary Flames in a package that would've netted the Maple Leafs T.J. Brodie, but he nixed the move with the hopes of remaining with the only professional club he'd known at that point. Continue to Article
