Forward Brayden Schenn signed an eight-year, $52 million contract extension Friday that will keep him with the St. Louis Blues through the 2027-28 season. The 28-year-old Schenn has spent the previous two seasons with the Blues, recording a career-high 70 points (28 goals, 42 assists) in 2017-18 and 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) last season. Connor McDavid scored the go-ahead goal at 14:37 of the third period as the Edmonton Oilers rallied to defeat the visiting Vancouver Canucks 3-2 Wednesday night in the season opener for both teams.
