The Atlanta Braves captured their second straight NL East title, delivering viewership milestones throughout the regular season, finishing with their highest average local TV ratings since 2013. The Braves, who are owned by Liberty Media Corp. (NASDAQ: BATRA), reeled in an average local household rating of 3.62, which is a 13% jump from last season when the Braves won a division title and returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2013. After a crazy Wild Card game, the divisional series is now set in the National League with the Braves facing the Cardinals and the Nationals taking on the Dodgers. Both series will begin Thursday, giving us an opportunity for a small two-game slate on Yahoo. Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said second baseman Kolten Wong, who missed two weeks with a hamstring injury, will start Game 1. Miles Mikolas (9-14, 4.16 ERA) makes his first playoff start for St. Louis opposite veteran left-hander Dallas Keuchel (8-8, 3.75). The Los Angeles Dodgers passed over three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw for the start in their playoff opener, opting to give the ball to Walker Buehler. Buehler, a 25-year-old right-hander, will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Thursday against the visiting Washington Nationals.
