Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon, expected to be among the most prized free agents this offseason, received a seven-year contract proposal from Washington worth at least $210 million in early September, the Washington Post reported Monday. The 29-year-old Rendon, who is coming off the best season in his seven-year career, all with the Nationals, did not speak with the media Monday at Nationals Park as the team prepared to host the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday in the National League wild-card game. Nationals 8, Indians 2 Kurt Suzuki hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Washington added four more runs in the sixth against visiting Cleveland for its season-high eighth straight win. Suzuki gave the Nationals a 3-1 lead when he hit his 17th home run of the season, a two-out, two-run blast. Cardinals star Yadier Molina shouted at Cubs left-hander Cole Hamels after being grazed by a fastball, leading the benches and bullpens to clear Saturday night. Molina was awarded first base in the second inning after Hamels' 91 mph pitch clipped his left arm.
