Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman was not in the lineup in Kansas City on Thursday afternoon after being hit in the helmet by a pitch during Wednesday's loss to the Royals. The San Diego Padres picked up some outfield help Wednesday, claiming Nick Martini off waivers from the Oakland Athletics. Martini, 29, was designated for assignment by the A's on Monday.
