Still, Kershaw navigated his way through six innings to pass Sandy Koufax for most wins by a Dodgers left-hander and Los Angeles routed the Toronto Blue Jays 16-3 Tuesday night. "It's special," said Kershaw, who at the same time is loath to consider the big picture when it comes to his career achievements. "All the historical stuff is for me to look back on when I retire. When it is all said and done, Clayton Kershaw could very well go down as one of the best pitchers to have ever taken the mound in the major leagues. On a night where Kershaw had a chance to pass the legendary Sandy Koufax in career wins, the one man he couldn't seem to figure out was budding Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette. Bichette, who has made a habit of setting records with regularity in the first weeks of his blossoming career, started the game with a bang, hammering the second pitch out of Kershaw's hand into the left-field seats for a leadoff home run. Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber was diagnosed with an oblique strain after leaving a rehab start Sunday during the first inning. The Indians will shut down the two-time American League Cy Young Award winner from pitching while he begins a new rehab program, the team said in a statement Tuesday. Toronto Blue Jays prospect Nate Pearson has rocketed through the team's minor league system in 2019, and on Tuesday he looked right at home in his debut at the highest level he's reached yet. Pearson got the call to start for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on his 23rd birthday against the Rochester Red Wings, and continued right along the path that had seen him dominate both Double-A and High-A earlier in the year. Pearson finished strong, retiring 11 straight batters to end his outing and left with the Bisons leading 1-0. Continue to Article

A Toronto Blue Jays prospect had a night to remember for the team's Triple-A affiliate on Monday night, as T.J. Zeuch threw a no-hitter for the Buffalo Bisons. Zeuch threw 114 pitches, 73 for strikes, walking one while and hitting a batter in his nine no-hit innings. Their first round pick — 21st overall in the 2016 draft — Zeuch has had an up-and-down journey through the minor league system, but on Monday he was as good as it gets against the Rochester Red Wings.
