The Detroit Tigers released veteran infielder Josh Harrison after reinstating him from the 60-day injured list on Friday. A shoulder sprain and a hamstring injury that required surgery sidelined Harrison, 32, for most of the season. Kang, 32, was batting .169 with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs in 65 games this season. Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jameson Taillon is tentatively expected to undergo surgery to repair his elbow flexor tendon in the next few weeks, according to The Athletic. The Pirates placed Taillon on the injured list in early May for what was described as a right elbow flexor strain.
