The White Sox recent offensive renaissance came to a screeching halt Friday, though Tim Anderson tried to keep the mojo from a 5-2 road trip working. Matt Chapman, Stephen Piscotty and Chad Pinder homered in support of another strong pitching performance by right-hander Mike Fiers on Friday afternoon, lifting the visiting Oakland Athletics to a 7-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox in the opener of a three-game series. Fiers (11-3) extended his streak of unbeaten starts to 17 with seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks. Continue to Article
