Smith hit a soft liner to left-center off right-hander Andres Munoz that Padres left fielder Wil Myers made a diving attempt to catch, but the ball dropped just in front of him, with the speedy Smith taking second. J.P. Crawford then put down a bunt just in front of the plate, with Padres catcher Austin Hedges trying to throw out the lead runner. With Houston's powerful offense, there always seem to be men on base when Yuli Gurriel comes to the plate in the bottom part of the Astros order. Gurriel drove in a team record-tying eight runs, Gerrit Cole won his 10th straight decision and the Astros routed the Colorado Rockies 14-3 for their sixth victory in a row. Yuli Gurriel homered and had a career-high eight RBIs, Jose Altuve also hit a home run, and the host Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies 14-3 on Wednesday. Yordan Alvarez had three hits and Alex Bregman had two hits and three RBIs for the Astros, who have won six in a row.
