The Toronto Blue Jays will be extending the protective netting at the Rogers Centre and Dunedin Stadium for the 2020 season, the team announced in a statement Monday. The Blue Jays added increased netting behind home plate, and extended the protection to the outfield portion of each dugout prior to the 2018 season, due to concerns emanating from young fans being struck by errant baseballs. "Fan safety is paramount to the Blue Jays and we believe that fans should feel protected and secure during our games," Andrew Miller, Blue Jays executive vice president of business operations, said in a statement.
