Matt Adams' two-out, two-run double gave the Nationals a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning before Soto's solo blast to right field in the eighth. Starter Joe Ross (1-3) struggled early, walking five batters in the first 2 1/3 innings, but he didn't give up a hit until rookie pitcher Alex Young hustled to beat out an infield single with one out in the fifth.
