Deadline day has turned into promotion day on the South Side. Not long after the White Sox sent this year's first-round pick, Andrew Vaughn, to Class A Winston-Salem, they promoted last year's first-round pick, Nick Madrigal, to Triple-A Charlotte, placing the fifth-ranked prospect in their organization and one of the top 50 prospects in baseball on the doorstep of major leagues. Jeff McNeil smacked a go-ahead, two-run home run in the 11th inning, Michael Conforto added insurance with a solo shot and Amed Rosario had four hits to lift the visiting New York Mets to a 5-2 victory against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.
