The Marcus Stroman rumblings are heating up and one can only assume that where there's smoke, there's fire. Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the New York Mets are looking at a myriad of scenarios that would culminate in a blockbuster deal sending Noah Syndergaard to the San Diego Padres while acquiring enough of a return to land Stroman from the Blue Jays in a separate deal. Paul Goldschmidt homered for a fifth consecutive game, his three-run blast in the eighth inning lifting the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-3 victory over the visiting Houston Astros on Friday. Five-time All-Star Troy Tulowitzki announced his retirement on Thursday after injuries again derailed another season. Tulowitzki, 34, was able to play in just five games for the New York Yankees due to a calf injury.
