Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes was placed on the seven-day concussion list on Friday, one day after being hit in the left side of his face with a pitch by Detroit Tigers right-hander Drew VerHagen. Texas Rangers All-Star outfielder Joey Gallo underwent surgery on his right wrist on Thursday to repair a broken hamate bone, and he will miss at least four weeks, the team announced.
