Danny Santana highlighted a 10-run explosion in the fifth and sixth innings with a grand slam Thursday night, powering the Texas Rangers to an 11-3 romp over the host Oakland Athletics in the opener of a four-game series. Santana finished with three hits and a career-best six RBIs, while Asdrubal Cabrera also collected three hits, as the Rangers won for just the second time in their last 11 games. Texas Rangers slugger Joey Gallo will likely be placed on the 10-day injured list with a possible broken bone in his right wrist. Rangers manager Chris Woodward told reporters that Wednesday's MRI exam was inconclusive and that the team sent Gallo back to Dallas. Darvish (3-4) turned in his second straight outing of two-hit ball over six scoreless innings.
