Even after a postgame beer shower from his ecstatic Baltimore Orioles teammates, Stevie Wilkerson was shocked to learn he had just become the first position player in major league history to earn a save. Jonathan Villar's two-out, two-run home run in the top of the 16th inning gave Baltimore the lead, and center fielder Stevie Wilkerson pitched a perfect bottom half of the inning to become the first position player in major league history to record a save as the Orioles beat the Los Angeles Angels 10-8 Thursday night in Anaheim, Calif. The Orioles used 10 pitchers in the game, which lasted 6 hours, 19 minutes. The Oakland Athletics reinstated Nick Hundley from the 10-day injured list Thursday and then designated the veteran catcher for assignment. Hundley was batting just .200 with two home runs and five RBIs in 31 games before he was sidelined with back spasms in June.
