The powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake which rocked California, could not stop a baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres last night. As Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles shook some worried crowd members headed for the exits, but the two teams played on. Dodgers second baseman Enrique Hernandez and Padres pitcher Eric Lauer did not appear to be affected by the quake, despite commentators wondering how they were continuing to play and cameras clearly showing the shaking. Eric Lauer was on the Dodger Stadium mound when he heard the crowd suddenly get loud and wondered why. Lauer kept pitching, throwing two strikes in the midst of a strong earthquake that rattled the stadium during San Diego's 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers didn't need a sixth straight walk-off win at Dodger Stadium Thursday night. With right-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu pitching six scoreless innings and Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger hitting solo homers, the Dodgers defeated the slumping San Diego Padres 5-1 at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers are cruising to the NL West title, but they are getting a key reinforcement for the second half. Out since late April with an infection in his right elbow, Pollock began a minor league rehab assignment Thursday with High-A Ranch Cucamonga and could reportedly be ready to rejoin the Dodgers for their series against the Red Sox to begin the second half next weekend. The 31-year-old was batting just .223 with two homers and a .617 OPS in 28 games prior to hitting the injured list, but he's obviously capable of helping in most fantasy leagues when healthy.
