After they blew a five-run lead in the ninth inning, the visiting Milwaukee Brewers got an RBI single from Lorenzo Cain in the 10th Friday to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-6. Against Pirates closer Felipe Vazquez (2-1), Milwaukee's Orlando Arcia, Manny Pina and Cain singled in succession to produce the winning run. Castillo, proud owner of one of the most infuriatingly unhittable changeups in recent memory, gave the Brewers the business, silencing Christian Yelich and company en route to his team-leading eighth victory. The Dominican Republic native hurled 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball and would have had a fighting chance at his first career shutout if not for a pesky rain shower that interrupted play for an hour and nine minutes. Kris Bryant highlighted his four-hit performance with a homer, and he scored three runs as the visiting Chicago Cubs averted a four-game sweep with an 11-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Robel Garcia, who was playing in his second career game, joined Willson Contreras in belting a homer among their three hits, and Albert Almora Jr. also went deep as the Cubs moved into a tie with Milwaukee atop the National League Central with 46-42 records. Tempers flared in the fourth inning as Chicago manager Joe Maddon was ejected after All-Star shortstop Javier Baez was nearly hit by a pitch from Pittsburgh starter Jordan Lyles (5-5), who had surrendered three home runs.
