With the nationwide ban on sports gambling gone — and with sports gambling regulations slowly being implemented on a state-by-state basis — any number of businesses are considering getting in on the action. Among those businesses are the Chicago Cubs. Cody Bellinger hit a home run, and closer Kenley Jansen found a bit of redemption as the Los Angeles Dodgers earned a 3-2 victory Sunday over the visiting Chicago Cubs. Jansen earned his 21st save, although just barely, one day after he gave up a two-run home run to Anthony Rizzo in the ninth inning that gave the Cubs a 2-1 victory. The Cubs put the first two runners aboard against Jansen in the ninth inning, but the right-hander got pinch hitter Kyle Schwarber on a groundout, threw out Albert Almora at the plate after a comebacker and finished off the victory by getting Javier Baez on a line drive to center field. The New York Yankees already are showing signs of busting out offensively, even before they add three big-time power hitters to their lineup in the coming days. James Paxton pitched six effective innings, Brett Gardner and Austin Romine each had four RBIs and New York cruised past the Chicago White Sox 10-3 on Sunday. The third baseman made his return to the White Sox starting lineup Sunday following a four-game layoff due to a mild back strain. After a fourth-inning strikeout in his second plate appearance of the 10-3 loss to the visiting New York Yankees, Moncada was removed from the game with what the team announced as upper back tightness.
