Oakland Athletics outfielder Stephen Piscotty had surgery to remove a melanoma from his right ear and is expected to return to action within the next week, the team announced. The surgery was performed Thursday at the California Pacific Medical Campus by Dr. Brian Parrett, who removed the mole in its entirety, the team said. The home venue for the Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics is now called the Ring Central Coliseum. The Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Authority approved the sale of the naming rights to the California-based communications firm for $1 million per year for three years, with an option to renew for a fourth year, the East Bay Times reported Saturday.
