WASHINGTON –The Mets' best chance to crack a dominant Patrick Corbin on Wednesday night came with their No. 3 hitter, Robinson Cano, at the plate with two outs in the third inning. Cano, a pricey offseason acquisition, rolled over a 2-2 slider too strand a pair with the Mets trailing by two. That means a rotation that looks like this against the Nats from Tuesday to Thursday: Tuesday, May 14: Noah Syndergaard vs. Jeremy Hellickson Wednesday, May 15: Wilmer Font vs. Patrick Corbin Thursday, May 16: Zack Wheeler vs. Anibal Sanchez If the Mets stick with the above plan, it would mean opting to start Font on Wednesday instead of using Wheeler (on regular rest) on Wednesday and Jacob deGrom (on regular rest) on Thursday.
