The Boston Bruins got some timely goals in their tight Eastern Conference semifinal series with Columbus, and when the goals weren't coming, Tuukka Rask stood tall. The Finn turned in his best playoff performance so far in Monday night's 3-0 win over the Blue Jackets in Game 6, leading the Bruins into the conference final against Carolina. The Blue Jackets played hard and forechecked well enough to win every game, but were 0 for 10 on power-play chances in the final three games of the series, all won by Boston. Continue to Article

The Bruins may not be getting much help as far as health goes on their back end with Charlie McAvoy potentially looking at a Game 1 suspension for his hit in the closeout game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. Rask stood on his head, became a Black and Gold brick wall and was any other goaltending cliché for awesome while holding down a desperate Blue Jackets team that threw plenty of vulcanized rubber at the Boston net. Looming discipline? What does NHL rulebook say about McAvoy hit? originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com In last night's series clincher against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Charlie McAvoy delivered a rough blow to Columbus' Josh Anderson involving the head, and eyebrows were raised when McAvoy only saw a 2 minute minor penalty.
