Bruins: Noel Acciari 'day to day', no issues anticipated with Charlie McAvoy originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com The Boston Bruins have dealt with some key injuries this postseason, and they saw another scare when Charlie McAvoy limped off in pain in the dying seconds of the team's 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 5. McAvoy took a puck off his right skate before coming off, but he is expected to be fine. How David Pastrnak's early playoff career ranks among best in Bruins history originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com You have to go back multiple decades to find a Boston Bruins player who's been more productive offensively to start his Stanley Cup playoff career than David Pastrnak. Columbus
The worst was feared when Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy kicked out his right foot to block a shot in the closing seconds of Boston's Game 5 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The second-year D-man managed to smother the shot with his right skate to ensure the 4-3 win over Columbus at TD Garden, and then said it was perfectly okay while speaking with the media following the game. McAvoy did have a big red welt on the side of his right foot where he'd made contact with the blistering Artemi Panarin shot, but he was walking normally without a limp while barefoot in the postgame dressing room. Talking Points from the Bruins' 4-3 win in Game 5 originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com Here are Joe Haggerty's Talking Points from a wild 4-3 Game 5 win for the Bruins, who will try to close out the series in Columbus on Monday. GOLD STAR: An amazing third period finally gives way to a 4-3 win for the Boston Bruins as David Pastrnak scored his second goal of the game, and the game-winner, when he redirected a Brad Marchand cross-ice pass past Sergei Bobrovsky. Pastrnak finished with two goals, a plus-3 rating, seven shots on net and 9 shot attempts in 17 plus minutes of ice time. Continue to Article
