Last fall, it seemed a foregone conclusion that Kyler Murray would end up playing professional baseball. The Oakland A's had selected the Oklahoma outfielder with the ninth pick of the 2018 draft and signed him to a deal worth nearly $5 million. Two days after coughing up a five-run lead, the Texas Rangers scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to finish erasing their own five-run deficit and defeat the Oakland Athletics 8-7 on Sunday afternoon. Rangers pinch hitter Danny Santana, in his first at-bat of the season, tied the game at 7-7 with a two-run triple to deep right off A's reliever Joakim Soria (0-2) in the bottom of the eighth. Veteran right-hander Edwin Jackson is rejoining the Oakland A's organization on a minor league deal. Jackson, 35, went 6-3 with a 3.33 ERA in 17 starts with Oakland last season.
