New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been scratched from Saturday's start and will instead be undergoing an MRI exam after his right elbow was "barking," according to Mets manager Mickey Callaway. Callaway told reporters before Friday's road game against the St. Louis Cardinals that deGrom felt pain while playing catch on Thursday. The Mets sent deGrom back to New York on Friday. The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Harrison Bader on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 14, with a right hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals recalled rookie outfielder Lane Thomas from Triple-A Memphis.
