Orlando
Toronto outscored Orlando by 22 points in his 22 minutes, and the Raptors held the Magic to 40 per cent shooting from the field for a second straight game thanks in large part to Gasol's lockdown defence against Orlando's lone all-star. Through two games, Nikola Vucevic is stuck on 17 points on 6-of-21 shooting with five turnovers against six assists. This is the same man who pummelled Serge Ibaka to the tune of 30 points, 19 rebounds, and eight assists earlier this season, but he's fresh out of ideas against Gasol. Continue to Article

Celtics' great defense vs. Pacers in Game 1 summed up in two crazy stats originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com The Boston Celtics only scored 84 points in Game 1 of their first-round NBA playoff series against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, but it still was enough for a victory because the C's defense was fantastic. D.J. Augustin scored the final five points of the game, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left, as the Orlando Magic upset the host Toronto Raptors 104-101 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series Saturday. The Magic, the seventh seed in the East, won their first playoff game since their most recent postseason appearance in 2012. The Raptors, the second seed, fell to 2-14 all time in series-opening games. Continue to Article

Orlando
Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors entered the playoffs with a brand new slate but no one would fault you if it felt like history repeated itself again. Lowry, who has been criticized by many for his struggles during the playoffs, posted one of the worst showings of his career Saturday, failing to record a single point during the Raptors' 104-101 loss to the Orlando Magic in Game 1 of their first-round series. The veteran point guard went 0-7 from the field, and 0-6 from three-point range with the Magic providing him with plenty of open looks during the second half. Continue to Article
